Is there a difference between lab-grown and natural diamonds?

Yes. Natural diamonds were formed deep beneath the earth's surface 3.5 billion years ago, just after the earth was formed, while lab-grown diamonds are created in a laboratory setting using advanced technological processes. While both types of diamonds have the same physical and chemical properties, they differ in their origin and how they are formed.

Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?

Absolutely. Diamonds produced in a lab are done so using what’s known as a 'natural diamond seed' or 'diamond embryo'. The diamond seed serves as a starting point for the growth process, as carbon is deposited on the surface of the seed and gradually builds up into a larger, complete diamond crystal. The use of diamond seeds allows for the creation of larger, high-quality lab-grown diamonds that are virtually identical to natural diamonds.
